Creative juices flow in the Mirvish Theatre District

Located in the Eclipse Whitewear building in Toronto. In renovating the space, preservation was carefully considered to preserve the historic integrity of the four-story building, built in 1903 and listed as a Toronto Heritage property.  Important to the client was that their company’s philosophy, culture and image be carefully considered in the selection of colours, materials and finishes. Also took into account ergonomic standards and health and safety.

The renovation included combining two existing office spaces into one open concept production studio with four private offices, one large boardroom, a directors lounge/reception area, espresso bar and kitchen. The Boardroom is in the center of the plan.  It is a “box” enclosed in laminated milk glass, around which circulation flows 360 degrees. Adjacent to the boardroom is the directors lounge that doubles as the reception area -- a place where people congregate for casual meetings, parties and brainstorming sessions.
